Companies, no matter how large or small they are, have realized the importance of multi-Cloud in COVID-19. It is true that even before COVID phase, the companies were already adopting to Cloud for their business processes. But due to current global health distress prevailing in the world, more and more companies are now adopting to multi-cloud much faster than ever before. Nowadays, multi-cloud and hybrid clouds have become most talked about in the world of technology. Businesses of today are able to attain flexibility and scalability.

Enterprises are increasing the usage of mixed of public clouds, SaaS, and private clouds (also called on-premises infrastructure). Everybody works from home, so multi-cloud helps them innovate business models and support applications smoothly. Deploying SaaS programs helps reduce costs for enterprises. One can save costs with this idea and gets more customers on board.

Upon analyzing the differences between public cloud and on-premises data centers, enterprises are inclined towards multi-cloud as that is more beneficial.

3. Continuous accelerated pace of innovation in the cloud:

Cloud computing is innovating every day, giving more options to IT organizations, making it possible for them to have multiple choices, and giving an ease of multi-cloud environment. Keeping track of cloud innovation can be risky and time taking. That is where the multi-cloud environment helps and makes it better for enterprises for smooth working.

The rise of micro-services architectures and container-based deployments accelerates multi-cloud adoption. Multi-cloud adoption comes to the rescue to modernize these microservice architectures.

  1. Security enhancement: DDoS attacks can result in data loss and affect several computers simultaneously. Multi-cloud saves that, and there is no dependency on anyone you have to cater to. It saves you from shocking financial hit-ups and losses.
  2. No vendor lock-in: You can go to multiple vendors and choose the one that suits your budget. If one of your vendors increases the budget, you can go for a second one.
  3. Expense Reduction: With multi-cloud, users can do a lot of expense reduction.

Many Indian families to date used to trust brick-and-mortar instead of online purchasing. But pandemic has made access to online retail stores much easier than access to physical stores. Now more and more families are adopting online shopping for groceries as well. Companies in the healthcare sector are moving towards telemedicine, wherein doctors get video call appointments, and the cure is done by treating/explaining the patients digitally. The CEOs and founders who earlier thought their businesses would only work and get revenues if they physically met their employees daily now realize that work from the office is just an added cost. Instead, Employees are functioning well from their houses, keeping their health at par, spending time with their families, and performing much better.

All this has enabled and created more need for multi-cloud adoption for enterprises. As per a Forbes report, Microsoft’s team services saw a surge of 775%. Zoom reported a 345% increase in business during the first week of lockdown due to COVID-19. AWS saw 33% growth in sales and has broken the record of $10 billion bar. Multi-Cloud technology has impacted everyone’s lives greatly. People are noticing its worth due to the pandemic. If it had not been for multi-cloud technology, so many businesses in the world that are up and running would not have survived otherwise.
